During the Pandemic times, it is very important for all of us to keep our immunity levels at its best so that we are well equipped to fight against infection. Regular hand hygiene like using hand sanitizer, proper washing of hands with soap and use of face masks whenever we are in public places or in crowded areas are the basic pre-requisites. But in addition to this, let us know some simple tips on how we can improve and strengthen our immunity.
Balanced Diet
Inclusion of 2 to 3 fruits per day. Apple, Guava, Pomegranate, Grapes, Orange or any seasonal fruit can be consumed. Vegetables are equally important and 2-3 servings per day is essential. They not only are a good of fibre, but will provide the much required vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants.
Your cooking should include  reasonable amount of Haldi(Turmeric), Jeera(Cumin), Dhaniya(Coriander) and Lahsun(Garlic)
Daily consumption of 1 cup of curd will be very helpful as the pro-biotic property greatly improves the immunity. Avoid fried and processed foods. Say a big NO NO to smoking and consumption of alcohol as both are detrimental to overall health and compromises on the immunity
Physical Exercise
30 minutes of brisk walking or minimum 15 minutes of aerobic exercise/yoga is a great way to improve overall health along with immunity
Sleep
8 hours of daily sleep has to be made a mandate
Manage Stress
Stress releases catecholamine which has several detrimental effect. Simple meditation for 15 minutes per day is an effective way to de-stress
Supplementation
Apart from diet, you can consider taking supplements that include Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Zinc, Copper, Selenium. Always consult your Dr. before taking any supplement as they may also have serious adverse effects
